Use case

Word, PowerPoint, Excel and PDF files from an AI chat

Milly Lab turns a chat answer into a downloadable DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, PDF or Markdown file on the Pro ($25/month), Max ($42/month) and Advanced ($72/month) plans. Ask in any chat and name the format; the file is laid out with one of 16 design themes, can contain 11 chart types and arrives as a download card with a preview.

What problem does document generation solve?

It removes the copy-and-format step: instead of pasting an AI answer into an editor and laying it out by hand, you get a finished file with headings, tables and charts in a standard format.

Which file formats can Milly Lab create?

Milly Lab creates five formats from a chat: Word (DOCX), PowerPoint (PPTX), Excel (XLSX), PDF and Markdown.

FormatTypical use
Word (DOCX)Reports, letters, contracts and other text you will keep editing
PowerPoint (PPTX)Presentations; the content is split into separate slides
Excel (XLSX)Tables and data you will sort, filter or calculate with
PDFA fixed layout for sending, printing or archiving
Markdown (MD)Plain text with formatting, for wikis, README files and notes

How do you create a document in Milly Lab?

Ask for the file in a normal chat and name the format, length and audience; the model writes the content, Milly Lab builds the file, and a download card appears in the conversation.

  1. Open a chat and choose a model your plan includes.
  2. Describe the document: the format, the length (number of slides, pages or sections), what goes in each part, who it is for, and any styling such as brand colours or fonts.
  3. Attach source material if you have it: the model reads Word, Excel, PowerPoint and text files attached to the chat.
  4. The reply shows a status line while the document is being built, then a card with the file.
  5. Click the file name to open a preview, with presentations shown as slides, or click the download icon to save the file.
  6. Ask for changes in the same chat, for example a shorter third slide or a darker theme, and the model builds a new version.

What designs and charts can a document have?

Documents are laid out with one of 16 built-in themes, or with the colours, fonts and mood you describe, and can include charts drawn from your numbers.

  • Themes: corporate, minimal, government, data analytics, creative, dark premium, CIS regional, academic, legal, healthcare, financial, tech SaaS, startup and VC, educational, infographic and editorial.
  • Chart types: bar, line, pie, area, scatter, bubble, radar, heatmap, waterfall, funnel and pyramid.
  • Describe your own style in words, for example “navy with gold accents, Montserrat”, and the theme follows it.
  • The document engine lays out the pages itself, wrapping text and breaking pages, instead of leaving the layout to the model.

Which plan includes document generation?

Document files are included in Pro ($25 per month), Max ($42), Advanced ($72) and Enterprise; on Free and Starter ($12) the model answers in the chat but does not build files.

What are the limits of document generation?

Each document is written by a chat model and counts against that model's monthly allowance like any other message; once the allowance is used up, further use is charged to your top-up balance at 2× the provider's cost.

  • The model builds a file only when you ask for one. After a long answer it offers a format that fits the content and waits for your yes.
  • On Free and Starter the answer stays in the chat as text; no file is built.
  • Attaching files needs a paid plan: the Free plan has no file uploads.
  • Check figures, names and dates in a generated document before you send it: an AI model wrote the content.
