Research a question with several AI models in Council Mode
Council Mode in Milly Lab sends one research question to several AI models at once. Each answers on its own card without seeing the others and rates its confidence; you compare the cards, run a 4-stage debate where they disagree and merge the result into a Final card. It is part of Max ($42/month) and Advanced ($72/month).

Why ask several AI models the same research question?
Independent answers from different models show where they agree, where they differ and which claims need checking, which a single confident answer cannot show.
How does a Council research session work?
You write one brief, choose the reviewer models and an orchestrator, and get one card per reviewer; then you compare, question, debate and merge the cards into a Final card.
- Open Swarm Mind, choose Council Mode and write the question. Attach sources if you have them; they become a read-only Original card.
- Choose the reviewer models and the orchestrator model from the chat models your plan includes.
- Each reviewer answers on its own card at the same time, without seeing the other answers, and ends with a confidence rating: High, Medium or Low.
- Compare the cards, regenerate a weak one, or chat with the model behind a card; write to the whole council and @mention models to give each one its own part of a follow-up.
- Start a debate where the cards disagree. It runs in 4 stages: argument, counterargument, evaluation of the evidence and a verdict.
- Merge all cards, or one card you choose, into the Final card. Any card can be downloaded as a Markdown file.
What makes a good Council question?
Open questions with several defensible answers, such as decisions, designs and trade-offs, get the most from a council; a closed factual lookup tends to produce near-identical cards.
We need to add offline support to our mobile app. Propose an architecture, the main trade-off you are accepting, and what it would cost us to change it later.
If a question asks about recent events, Milly Lab runs a web search before the models answer and gives them the results.
Which plan includes Council Mode?
Council Mode is part of Swarm Mind, which is included in Max ($42 per month), Advanced ($72 per month) and Enterprise; Free, Starter and Pro do not include it.

Numbers are monthly allowances in messages (ChatGPT Codex: in sessions). Every model call in a run counts against that model's allowance, as a chat message does.
What does a Council session cost, and what are its limits?
Every card is a full answer from its model and counts against that model's monthly allowance, so a council of four models costs about four answers; debate rounds and follow-ups add more calls.
- When a model's monthly allowance is used up, further calls to it are charged to your top-up balance at 2× the provider's cost.
- Up to 4 Council and Project sessions can run at the same time on one account.
- A council can also read a connected GitHub repository or Google Drive folder; file contents are sent to the models as input and add to the cost.
- Agreement between models is not proof. Check important claims against primary sources before you rely on them.
